Message from the school nurse:
How much sleep is enough?
Establish a regular bedtime and wakeup time. This schedule should be maintained even on the weekends, though students can be allowed to sleep late one or two hours on the weekend mornings. While individual sleep needs vary, sleep experts recommend the following:
Elementary School students: 10-11 hours of sleep per night.
Middle School students: 9-11 hours of sleep per night
High School students: At least 8 hours of sleep per night
Remember to add 10 to 20 minutes to bedtime for just falling asleep.
Winter is Here
Now that winter is here, please make sure your child is appropriately dressed for the weather. They need warm coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots as well as snowpants. They will need them to play in the snow here at school. We do spend time outside. Before school, lunch recess and after school.
