What is 4-Year-Old Kindergarten?
- 4-year-old kindergarten was created so students could receive extra support to be more successful in their school careers. Students may need extra support in the areas of academics, speech, physical or social development.
- Age requirement: Must be 4 years old by September 1st
- Must live in the Curtis Strange School boundaries
- Who can register for 4-year-old kindergarten?
- Everyone that meets the age and lives in the Curtis Strange boundaries can register.
- However, there are only 24 spots available (12 for the morning and 12 for the afternoon class)
- Each child that is eligible to attend the 4K program must go through a screening with the teacher. Based on the screening, the children that need the most support will be accepted first. The remaining spots are then filled by picking names out of a hat.
- Those that are not accepted to the program will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
- Hours: Morning – 8:10-11:00
- Afternoon – 12:15-3:00
- Days of School – We meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
- What are Wednesdays for?
- Wednesdays are for me to plan, attend meetings, have activities at school, and conduct home visits.
- What are home visits?
- Home visits happen at least once a year. I usually come to your home, however we can meet at school or elsewhere. We talk about your child and together create ways to help them succeed in areas that are hard for them and/or ways to help them go farther in areas they are ready for.
