Welcome To My Classroom

Hi
My Name is Rebecca Whitefoot and I am an elementary music specialist at C. Strange Elementary. I have the privilege of seeing all of the students at our school in grades kindergarten through grade 5, and I love getting to know them in music class.

My expectations are high: That every student do their best, whether they want to be the next Hanna Montana or the president of the United States. Music has something for EVERYBODY. In my classroom if a student is having a"B flat" day, (off task) they are allowed to go to the refocus desk where they can color or do word puzzles or just "chill out". They may return to the classroom activities when they "C sharp" again. (are ready to work).

I love teaching students to become performers when it is time for a program or variety show at school. Since I am a vocalist, I especially like to work out those pure, innocent voices and create show-stopping moves to WOW our audiences.

Outside of school I enjoy singing in "Musici Amichi", or "musical friends", a Carthage College alumni vocal chamber group. Since receiving my BA in music education from Carthage College, certified in Pre K-12, I have been employed by KUSD, where I have made Kenosha my lifetime home. I also enjoy spending time with my family and traveling on the weekends to see my grown-up children throughout Wisconsin.

I believe children are the future of our being and that "Music is the universal language of mankind". ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
